Hi to all Class of '62, Remembering all those "good old days" from RHS and Grover Cleveland School. Anyone from Grover Cleveland, pls. let's get together since I have recently found all kinds of fun pictures from grammar school (halloween, 8th grade dance, graduation, etc.) Have retired to Orlando & have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren in Minnesota and No. Carolina and having fun doing whatever I please, whenever I please. Looking forward to reconnecting with all the great memories and friends from days gone by. Really looking forward to the big 50 reunion coming up soon and revisiting all the great memories from White Castle, the Root Beer Stand, Homeroom, Proms, Sat. nite dances, Drive-ins, Pep Rallies and of course Football games. I am still a really gross football fan (NY Giants - since forever). Although I must admit that I was a traitor for a while when living in Miami and the Dolphins had a perfect season. | It seems like every year at this time, my thoughts go back to the great times I had at Rahway High school and the wonderful experience of growing up in Winfield Park. Sleigh riding near the parkway, skating on Rahway River at night and freezing my ass off at Perth Amboy drive-in because the heater in my 56 chevy didn't work worth a damn. Walking through Rahway Park after it snowed at nightand there was a full moon out. It seemed as though you could see forever. As a kid growing up in Winfield where our freshman class had 27 kids and coming to Rahway as a sophmore with over 500 students, the shock was overwhelming. However, I must say thankyou to all of you who knew me for making me feel welcome. I often think back on those times as I'm sure many of you do, and every time I get a smile on my face. As we approach this holiday season, I wish everyone of you the best of everything. Somehow I believe, by growing up in Winfield and going to RHS back in the 50's and 60's, I've recieved the best of everything. So many of us had the same question - what happend to our Class President Bill Roesch? We know he passed away - but many didn't know when. I found a note on Classmates. com stating he died on 12/5/2003 he was the Principal of East Windsor High School - he had cancer. Jeff Gilchrest and I became very good friends over the past seven months. Anyone who knew Jeff knew that he was a special person. We discussed the many memories we had of Rahway High and the friends we had. We had many laughs talking about those "Good old days." Jeff was able to reconnect with some of his old friends. In talking with him it was like going back in time. His voice seemed to have never changed. We exchanged stories about our lives and found that we had many things in common. At one time he told me that he had lived in Stirling where I live. In fact, he only lived a few blocks from me. We never met. Jeff's passing is our loss. I can still hear his laugh and see him walking down the halls of Rahway High. God blessed us by allowing his life to be shared with us. Everyone who knew him respected and loved him. It is our faith that carries us through moments like this. It is our belief in God's love and forgiveness that allows us to praise and embrace His eternal Grace that is offered to each of us. Jeff understood this during the many conversations that we had. It is difficult to put into words the loss of such a wonderful person and friend. May God love him as he loved us. The music is over and the tables have been cleared but the memories linger on. For one brief shining mement (my apologies to Lerner and Lowe) Camelot once again came alive. Those of you that I met at the reunion after so many years...to quote another line from a song, "I'm glad there is you." | class of '63....what a great year!!!!! memories of great friends and people.....noel wolf, joe "cheech" lynn kovacs, Jeff Gilchrest, and betsy reynolds. have been married for 39 years (aug. 16th). attended North Carolina College in Durham, NC., received masters degree from Lincoln University, PA., husband retired from northwest airlines and I from yardville youth correctional facility(NJ) as a director of special unit of defenders (drugs,alcohol, etc.).we have one son who is a pediatric surgical dentist, daughter-in-law teaches school and an adorable grandson age 4 (born on christmas day) living in maryland. | Well! It is official, Irving and Main streets are two way. I drove down Irving St., what a strange feeling, to see traffic coming toward you. The road seems so narrow, I would sometimes find myself riding down the middle. Originally the streets were two way, then in 1947 they went to one way. Cherry st. will still be one way, but the other way. Time is getting short, The All Class Reunion is getting close, I will be getting my poodle skirt and saddle shoes out of mothballs just for the occasion. Hey to the class of '62 Isn't that a great music mix. Thank you. Just thinking about days gone by. Hope to see many '62's at the reunion in October. Remembering driving girls to "the Castle", Par 3 golf at Galloping Hills, Walt's, Iron City beer, Ed Dykes(he was great), split sessions, Rahway High school baseball, Saturday Nighters and Staten Island(in either order), my pink Ford, White Castles(every time I am in Jersey--it is a must). Great friends like Lewis and Ladeau, Higgins and Williams, and Ludwig, Ottenthal, Borek and Brown. My prom dates--Hi Peggy and Vickey(guess I had a thing for majorettes) The sophomore girl I drove to school after my graduation night--Hi Mary Louise. (I hope my wife doesn't read this, but I know my brother will) The girls of the class of '62--so great, too many to name but Alioth, Pearson and Arlene H head up a group of classy ladies) Seeing Dylan and Joan Baez in Asbury Park. The great reunions the Class of '62 has had. Thank you, Joyce I went to Kent State(and when I came home at Christmas my freshman year, no one had ever heard of it--how that changed) Retired teacher(still subbing at our new home(since 1996) in Arizona and still love it. | How many of us remember the mounting of the Revolutionary War cannon in front of the "Senior Steps" at Rahway High School in 1961? It was a monumental effort met with some humor and more than a little amazement. It was covered in the Elizabeth Daily Journal and, of course, the Rahway Record. This could be the best party anyone in our class has ever had...and we had some great ones.From Mike Golden's house @ the shore when we ALL...skipped school to Carol Oxmans...Sue Gallo's,Carol Murphy's, the list just goes on and on. Richard Nader could not bring together a gathering as good as this one is going to be. Thank you Joe C. for your great effort. Although I didn't graduate from Rahway High, I attended St. Mary's Grammar School and I have come across many familiar names in guestbook comments. I graduated high school in 1963 and my brother, John, graduated in 1967. We grew up in Rahway and have many fond memories of grammar and high school years with our friends from Rahway. | Yes, you read it right-- the Class of 1938, still alive and kicking. At our 69th Reunion last year, we had 30 classmates, and their spirit rang out loud and clear. We're looking forward to this year's big 70th. | |||||||||||

| Hi all from '63. This sight in WONDERFUL. We left Rahway 4 years ago and I was amazed when I saw what has happened since then. Thank God for memories as nothing is the same there.
